3rd Annual Lavender Festival, July 12 - 14, 2013

The Lavender Association of Western Colorado is proud to, once again, host Colorado's ONLY lavender festival in historic downtown Palisade. Located in western Colorado along the I-70 corridor, getting here is a quick 4 hour drive or 1 hour flight from Denver or Salt Lake City.


FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

FRIDAY: All-day guided Motorcoach Tour - 8a.m. - 5p.m.

You don't want to miss this year's guided lavender farm tour; a great start to a lavender filled weekend. We will begin the bus tour in Palisade, where you will experience lavender fields, learn about the latest lavender research, shop for lavender related treats, and pick a fresh lavender bundle. Then off to Paonia to enjoy a lavender inspired picnic lunch along the Gunnison river, and see a lavender distillation. Finish the day with a wine and food reception featuring lavender.

SATURDAY: Festival in the Park - 9a.m. - 4p.m.

Enjoy the festival in historic Palisade Memorial Park. Shop an intriguing array of high quality artisan lavender inspired products, live music, food, cooking demos. Taste lavender treats and St. Kathryn Cellar's wines including their lavender wine. (FREE ENTRY).

9a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Designing an Irrigation System for Lavender presented by Grand Junction Pipe
9:45a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Current Research on Lavender presented by Kathy Kimbrough & Curtis Swift
10:30a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Cooking demonstration presented by Lida Lafferty (FREE)
11:15a.m. - 12 p.m. Economics of Lavender Farming presented by Rod Sharp & Paola Legarre
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Wreath-making craft workshop presented by Susan Metzger- $15 (not included in session fee)

Afternoon Session - $20/person before July 6, $30/person at the festival
1:00p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Common Scents Solutions: 6 Essential Oils to Cover Basic Needs presented by Barbara Lucks
2:00p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Cooking demonstration presented by Lida Lafferty(FREE)
3:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Healing Gardens Using Lavender presented by Rick Spalenka
3:00p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Wreath-making craft workshop presented by Susan Metzger - $15 (not included in session fee)

NEW!! SATURDAY EVENING: Feast in the Field ~ Spike it with Lavender - 6p.m.

Elegant dining under the stars at High Contry Orchards, featuring succulent dishes spiked with lavender and paired with Colterris Wines. 6pm $100 TICKET, reservations essential.

SUNDAY: Self Guided Lavender Farm Tours - All Day

Drive through beautiful farm country of western Colorado and take a Self-Guided Tour of lavender farms, orchards, wineries and retail shops. Stock up on fresh and local fruits and veggies at farm stands. Every destination is unique! Meet the growers and producers. Pick up the map at the Saturday Festival. (FREE ENTRY)
